32nd DEATH ANNIVERSARY OF RAFI SAHAB

An invitation to me from A fan of RAFI SAHAB the legendary singer

As all of us know that the ICON of GOLDEN MELODIES our dear RAFI Sahab has left his mortal frame on the 31st of July 1980. He has left us bodily but his creations are still fresh in our hearts like a BLOSSOMING ROSE remaining with & will remain with us till our last breath. He has given us an OCEAN of MELODIES & out of these its very difficult to find out which is first , which second & so forth. But his personal favorite one is SUHANI RAAT DHAL CHUKI from Dulari tuned by late Naushad Sahab.

We feel immensely happy , when ever we hear a melody of Rafi Sahab either in our home or travelling in a bus or car or sitting cross legged on a coir knitted cot at a way side Dhaba or inside a cozy restaurant. It creates a sort of DIVINE happiness which words cant express. The great playback singer of our sub continent, Sri S.P.Balasubramanyam sir, keeps on telling at each stage show & reality shows that RAFI Sahab is his main inspiration & RAFI Sahab is a GAANA GANDHARVA .

In a single line I can describe Rafi Sahab as --- SUNEHREY DIL KE SHAHENSHAH, BEHETAREEN NAGMON KE BADSHAH AUR YE HAIN HAMARE RAFI SAHAB JO HAIN FARISHTON KA FARISHTAA

Among us there are a few friends who have given a number of stage shows due to his kind blessings, some of us discuss about his greatness in the meetings & get together , some of us keep on listening to his melodies always either at home or travelling in a vehicle, some of us have made our cell phones caller ID of his songs, And for all of us he is a DIVINE INCARNATION.

Since we got so much from him for all these decades since our childhood to our old age , now it becomes our benevolent duty to pay respect to the GREAT DEPARTED SOUL.

I request you to kindly visit my residence at 301 , SRI NIKETAN , 56 / 3 RT , S.R.Nagar , Hyderabad on the 31st July at around 6.30 PM & we will observe a minute of silence at 7 PM , as a mark of respect for our Rafi Sahab. Friends who cant, may please observe this one minute silence at the places where ever they are at that moment. The objective is to pay respect to the PIOUS SOUL .

At this moment I remember a quote from a great poet which is truly applicable to Rafi Sahab.

MUHABBAT SE KARO AAGAAZ TO AJNABI BHI KAREEB AATEY HAIN AUR MUHABBAT HAI EK RUHANI MANZIL , JAHAAN FARISHTEY BHI SAR JHUKATEY HAIN ........................
